  • HOME!

    Becky and I are home!

The other 2 team members arrived back at school yesterday.

We are all at our destinations safe and sound.

    Mission trip is complete.

  • Traveling...

Traveling is going VERY well!  We're in Indiana!

Becky and I are spending the night at a friend's house in Indianapolis and then it's off to home tomorrow which is a 3 hour drive.

God has been SO incredibly good. Plane flights all were very smooth and minimally stressful.

Thank you for all your prayers!

  • Today is our last day of work. Please pray that it would be profitable.

We are finishing up a lot of little tasks at the church and possibly moving furniture at someone's home.
The pastor said that this team most likely did more work than last years team... and I have a feeling that's because I kept asking him what we could do next, and next, and next....

The time really has gone by quickly. I have to admit I'm not looking forward to leaving 60+ degree weather for weather in the teens.

Tomorrow will be spent traveling back to the Eastern side of the Nation. Our flights leave at 12:45pm CA time, and we'll arrive in Indianapolis around 10pm eastern time.

  • Wow... what a beautiful day.

Today was my Birthday (March 8th), and it was a very pleasant sort of day.

The team surprised me with taking me out to lunch, and they even sang Happy Birthday to me.
I'm staying with the Green Family, and they even had a cake for me later that evening.

We worked at the church all morning cleaning and getting it ready for Sunday's Worship. We had made a royal mess over the week, so clean up was essential.

Then, for the afternoon we went with our pastor and another one ... and went with them for open air preaching. I'd never seen anything like it before. Basically, the pastor would just stand in a crowded area and start preaching as people walked by. The team would sit and watch and sing psalms. The psalm singing is what drew the crowd. It was a very good kind of day!

The late afternoon was relaxing, and tomorrow is Worship.

God has been good.  Have a beautiful Sabbath!

  • Singing

Yesterday we had a beautiful day off (Spent at the Zoo) and today we were back at the church for another work day. Today consisted of painting 3 classrooms. All went well. Tomorrow we will be putting on the second coat.

Singing is another ministry that Pastor England has headed up. Interestingly enough, he isn't much of a singer. He thought of the idea to have us go perform psalms at Coffee shops during their open mic nights. He doesn't sing with us, but he will introduce us and support us. Thankfully, Daniel sings bass and a few members of the church join us. I have been singing alto because between Becky and Merissa we had enough sopranos. It's interesting to walk into a coffee shop with a vast amount of styles of performances: guitarists, singers, rappers -including stand up comedians that are NOT funny at all... and that's the funny part.
Now, singing psalms adds a whole new variety, and last time we sang it made people sit up and take notice. We're about to perform again tonight in about 1/2 hour or so. Right now there's a group of 3 singers on stage singing what they claim to call "greensleeves".

[Edit] Singing went well! What fun!  [End edit]
